Sculpture & Ceramics

This course is an introductory course in Sculpture and Ceramics. Students will cover the basics and methods of hand-building: pinch, slab, and coil techniques. Students will also be exposed to wheel throwing techniques. Students will be introduced to art making through additive, subtractive and modeling processes of sculptural construction using multiple mediums, as well as experimenting with mold making and casting to make sculptures.  Art history, aesthetics and art criticism will be incorporated throughout the course. Class will be held at the Lafon Performing Arts Center.
