Team-members from the Technical Theatre team at the Satellite Center/Lafon Center for the Performing Arts in St. Charles Parish, Louisiana created these tracks based on their experience with Hurricane Ida. The storm devastated the region and many families are still living in temporary shelters months later.

This project allowed our team-members (9th-12th grade students) to tell the story of their experience during the storm and the 6 weeks after when there was little electricity, no school, and way too much uncertainty. Some focused on the storm itself, using audio recorded during or prior. Others chose to focus on the aftermath and what they did with their time, often unsure about daily routines and structure.

Originally, they were going to use this original sound design for an outdoor production of Sleepy Hollow; however, this was canceled due to Hurricane Ida. The storm devastated the region and many families are still living in temporary shelters months later. This project provided some good distraction and relief during that time.
